Goats, Salmon and a duck?

We spent the past two days, enjoying time with our granddaughter. We began our Wednesday by heading over to pick up Willow. She was playing hooky for the day, to spend time with us!

All packed for the overnight with Grandma and Grandpa!

We head to Coombs, to our favourite location. Goats on a roof! And of course, there is a little donut shop there too, so the “kids” had to have one. Unfortunately, there was a notice, they did not have any gluten free… so none for moi!

Such a cute donut shop!

At Goats, we discovered Purple Hot chocolate, and as Willow had never heard of Mable Murple, we listened to the author read on the way back.

Back at our BnB and we started up the fire outside, so that we could roast Hotdogs and marshmallows…. Of course, after the marshmallows, Willow was over it, and headed inside, Grandma and Grandpa enjoyed the fall fire for a bit, until it began to rain 😢

The afternoon was spend, nestled by the fire, colouring, and enjoying the Purple Hot chocolate! (with a marshmallow, of course!)

We has a lovely family dinner, and watched Home Alone, with an extra big bowl of popcorn.

A great day.

The next morning, after a pancake breaky, we dropped her off at the bus, and decided to do some wandering in the area.

We headed up,to Big Qualicum River Hatchery.

We had visited a Salmonid Hatchery in Newfoundland, so it made sense to visit this one on the island on the other side of the country, to compair.

A lovely wander through the trails, the wild life had left some uneaten salmon along the way..you could smell them before you saw them! 🥴

In the evening, we had dinner with Chanel, Brett, and Willow at the Golf club, yum.

It was good to visit all the grandkids, and we look forward to coming back in the spring to see how the little ones have grown. The kids and the salmon fry.

Oh..and the duck?

It was a topic of conversation… it was an odd kitchen decoration. What do you think, duck, duck or goose?

One response to “Goats, Salmon and a duck?”
