Back in the US of A… again….

Today was a day of preparation.

We had a leisurely morning, and did a bit of last minute shopping at Walmart, and re-packed our stuff as we were downsizing from our Phase One – Driving across America, and moving towards Phase Two – At Sea.

We were leaving one suitcase, the cooler, and other “driving things” behind, and just taking what we can carry (or roll)

Our friends drove us (very kindly, as it was rush hour) to downtown Victoria and to the Clipper Pier.

We had paid extra for “panoramic seats”. And I had picked out the ones at the very front, hoping for a stellar view, and extra leg room,

Boy was I disappointed.

The crew exit was in front of us, so no view there, and the seat faced the back. And no window to the side either.

The good part, it was a “group of four” with a table between, and no-one was in the other seats. So we switched sides, and although we did not have a “panoramic view” we did have a fun porthole to view.

Note to anyone ordering tickets on the clipper… do not take the very front seats on the left or right side. Take seats in the middle, or half way down the side!

Mount Baker
Phase one

We enjoyed the sunset sail to Seattle, with stellar views of the changing colours on Mount Baker.

Exiting in Seattle, we ordered an Uber X-Large, (as our suitcases are not small) and checked into our hotel, a mere two blocks from the Space Needle,

We got to our room, got comfy…. And Rick suddenly realized his Wallet was missing!!!

Great panic. We thought it may have fallen out as he exited (or entered the Uber)

I was just hurrying down the hall to check the front entrance when he, shame-faced, called that it was found.

We were tired, and as we arrived, he took the wallet from his back pocket, and put on the bedside table, then took off his hat, and placed it on top…. We were greatly relieved, as that would not have been a great way to start the vacation!

After that, we decided it was an Uber Eats kinda night! Rum and gin was poured, pizza ordered, and we called it a night!
