Bad things happen in threes

Or so they say…

We had a leisurely morning (after our middle of the night alarm)

We had enjoyed the breakfast at the 5 Point, we went back for more abuse! This time we sat on the bar side… and since the official decadent part of the holiday was about to begin. Rick had a mimosa to start the day! (Why wouldn’t you?)

The Mimosa
Breakfast at the bar!

We wandered back to our hotel, and completed our packing and headed down to the lobby to order an Uber to take us to the Pier.

As we entered the lobby, a gentleman with a cap and an AARP name tag asked us if we were taking the shuttle to the cruise.

We had already ordered our Uber… darn, if only we knew about the shuttle. I tried to figure out how to cancel the Uber, but he was already there. So we loaded our things into the Uber, and headed out.

The approach!
Our ship!

We arrived at the Pier, and unloaded. And realized that we had left a bag at the hotel, in the Lobby!!!

(Bad thing number two!)

I quickly called the hotel, and they found the bag, and thankfully the shuttle bus driver had not left yet, so he agreed to bring the bag.

Whew, another crisis averted.

(The bag, my favourite Red Cross tote; only had a bag of Doritos and our “wicked walk about” sign, but still, important)

We thanked the driver profusely when he arrived. He laughed hard when he found out what was in the bag!

The process to get aboard was seamless and friendly, unlike flying! And in no time we were on the Lido Deck, beside the pool enjoying a libation!

We had barely finished our drink and the announcement was made that our suites were ready!

So we headed out to find our room.

Note the Red Tote on the bed!!!

The luggage arrived, bit by bit and we unpacked.

After the last suitcase arrived, and we unpacked it all. The Captain announced that there would be a delay to our launch, as they were still loading supplies.

He also informed us of the projected weather for the next three days. High seas with Swells of 15 feet or more!

Bad thing number three… I seemed to have not packed my seasickness patches…. As I could not find them… I did find a similar box or the same size and color, but it was Bandages…. Not motion sickness patches 😦

I did pack a lot of Ginger tincture, and had a half bottle of Gravol. Fingers crossed that would be enough!

Well, the only thing left was to find some food, and get to know the ship..

Oh. And drink!

So we did!

We enjoyed the sights of Seattle from aboard, and explored.

The “sailing away” party

We were still in port at 11 pm when we crawled into our lovely large bed!

Mini painting of the day (which I miss-dated)

BTW…after we cleared the Strait, in the middle of the night, the seas swelled. And thankfully, I found the sea sickness patches after breakfast, as I was feeling a bit queasy

So it was really (almost) three bad things…

  • The not lost wallet
  • The not left behind tote bag
  • The not forgotten seasickness patches
