7 days and 7 nights…

At sea…

We slipped the harbour of Seattle in the middle of the night after all was loaded and slowly made it out of the Strait of Juan de Fuca.

And we were on our way!

Boy oh boy! for someone who has never been on a cruise, it was certainly an interesting start.

There were two tropical storms that were colliding, leaving massive swells in the wake… and in our path! making for an interesting ride….

Evening, in the Crows Nest (deck 10, aft)
The mini picture of the seas

I was very thankful that I found the sea sickness patches!

The seas beginning to increase
They closed the pool… as it was an unintentional wave pool. (They drained them that night)

Although the seas were rough, we quickly figured out our way around the ship and discovered our favourite bars and places to hangout!

The crows nest.
Games in the crows nest… the angle the picture is taken is because of the waves
The ocean bar… with Mimosas in the morning
The gallery bar

The night life kept going, even if some of the performers had to sit, instead of standing. They still kept us very entertained.

The Rolling Stones Lounge (taken after the seas calmed, we were not allowed to dance during the storms)
The Billboard on board… with Lena.
And George…

The service was amazing…

Finally after three days, the seas settled a bit… but according to the captain, a third storm was following the first two… but only swells of 10 feet! Seemed almost flat calm after the first few days.

Calmer seas
My version

We were finally able to get outside to walk the Promenade… and so everyone did!

Honestly, it’s a fluke that couple walked by to match my painting!
Richard, posing at the rail!

and to relax around the re-filled pool

The Lido

The mini pictures continued….

Sometimes not well…

George and Lina… after a few wiggly pops!
The first calm seas day…

Although the seas made for an interesting first cruise (for me). We had a great time. And the standing joke aboard, everyone was a drunken sailor! Or at least walked like one!
