Today we began our wander south…

The first place we passed through was White Rock…

Then we passed through Edmonton

But it was definitely not in Canada

We drove along and enjoying the scenery, and reading up on facts.

We stopped at the first information Center we found, in Babinda. A tiny sugar town.
There they told us about the local sights..so down the road we drove towards The Boulders Park

And what a lovely park it was. There was two swimming areas, and two trails. We only swam in one and walked down one trail.
The water was “refreshing” being river water. (Which we are used to at home in Canada) The locals said “it’s cold”
Rick teased about avoiding the crocs… then one of the locals said… “there are crocs, but further down stream, they don’t come up there” (we heard that twice today, second time at the campground, when the attendant recommended Alligator Pond) 😳

Then we decided to walk the trail down to the chute.
Wow!

It’s was a lovely spot. But it was time to move on.
So down the highway we drove, to our campsite for the night at Mission Beach.
Our site was literally on the beach… (well some coconut trees between us and the water! Yeah! More palms!!
We opened the back doors and the breeze was lovely, so naps were had!

We met a lovely German couple in the site beside us, who were just finishing up their three week drive from Sydney to Cairns… so we chatted until the sun went down, and the bugs came out. (And had some tasty adult beverages! lol )
