Sometimes, you just have to turn left.

We decided to go explore Port Arthur, one of the first settlements in Tasmania, and they have a heritage village there.

Off we headed in the little Yaris.

As we drove across the Tasmanian countryside, we decided to turn in at the first thing that struck our fancy… so we turned left at the next “interesting” information sign.

The sign said: Blow Hole, Devils Kitchen and Tasman Arch

This was our first stop.

How lovely, and peaceful.
We drove to that point you see at the end of the beach.
Fabulous views both ways

We continued down the road, to the village of Pirates bay… and then to Doo Town

Info about Doo Town

At the end of the road was the Blow Hole

The blow hole, the tide was retreating so not much spray
From the other side.

But most impressive was the view from the point!

Looking south
Looking north, over Fossil Island (the point in the foreground)

There was a stand that sold a number of Doo-lishious things, including Icecream.

Salted Caramel! Made in Tasmania. Yum

We then continued through Doo Town to Tasman National park, the Tasman Arch and Devils Kitchen!

Wow!

Devils Kitchen from the other direction, we stood on the point on the left of the picture.
Looking down into the Gorge!

We returned to our car and continued our wander to Port Arthur.

We did not even stop there, it was so commercial. We did a drive by and from what we saw, not worth the stop.

We instead headed to Carnarvon Bay, overlooking Port Arthur, where the Queen Elizabeth was at Anchor.

Lovely spot for lunch

We then returned to our AirBnb for a wee rest before we met up with our Friends from the Westerdam, which was in port at Hobart

A lovely Pub where we had dinner.
All decked out for Christmas
