Hospitality is always appreciated

Another Sunday… another church.

Today we went to the church in the little community we’re staying in.

A lovely stone church

St Thomas Anglican

We were welcomed by Jenny, who was setting up for the service, we chatted with her for a while, until someone else arrived. Jenny introduced us, and returned to setting up. We chatted to the new couple, until someone else arrived, and we were introduced and chatted to the new people. And so it continued. I think we met and chatted to everyone before the service started.

Inside.

We enjoyed the service; and joined everyone in the hall next door for a Cuppa. And met and chatted to everyone else.

One couple, Helen and Lawrence, invited us to come and visit their Sheep Farm in the afternoon.

After the cuppa, we wandered in the church yard

So after lunch, we headed over to the farm.

We spent the afternoon chatting with our hosts and learning about their life in New Zealand and Australia.

A lovely way to really know a community

More sheep, chilling in the shade
More sheep in pasture

It was a nice day, enjoying true Aussie hospitality!

The smaller the community, the better the welcome,

We went to dinner at the Barwon Hotel, and as soon as we arrive, we found out that the bar keep was the guy who sat behind us at church, Adam, and we had a great conversation with after the service.

The conversation continued! It was a great evening!

Adam’s partner, Carla is Celiac… so ge was able to make some great recommendations, the Chef is Korean, so many yummy not-flour based food!
