Another city, another Bike race

I’m starting to think that Bikes and Australians go together.

The other thing, biking on the sidewalk is a thing here… so weird! And frankly annoying!

We headed into Adelaide for Church this morning, because we had been in yesterday we were prepared for the Bike race, and the impact on our day. We had to cross the race route, so made sure we allowed for extra time.

As it turns out, we were at the starting place when the first race of the day started.

We then headed over to the church for the service.

Inside.
Pipes!
Lady chapel
Love the stain glass, always

Although their numbers were down due to the Bike race, there was a good turnout, and they did have a Cathedral Kids program. We then joined for a Cuppa, and got to know a few people. Another friendly parish!

We then headed across the race course again, to the Cross of Sacrifice Memorial garden for a little lunch stop.

Our lunch views… complete with two magpies and a bin bird looking for handouts! (Which they did not get)
Eternal flame (not really a flame)
Memorial gardens
The other direction

We then wandered along the rivers edge and explored the “other direction” from yesterday.

They like the grey gums!
The university footbridge
Crossing back over the river
Made me giggle! “Shoo them, wave arms- jumper-umbrella”
Then one landed next to me. I had no jumper or Umbrella, but he did not try to bite me!
The Adelaide bridge we walked over yesterday.
We went under this time, as the race was on it!
