Back to the Sea Side

It’s Sunday!

So off we went to Church. Today we attended St Michael’s Cathedral in Wollongong.

The service was a contemporary family service, and “welcome back” to church after school holidays, they introduced the Youth Leader team (6+ young adults) and the church kids went off to learn ( 20+ children)

The service included an electric guitar, and drums… and a long sermon…

PowerPoint too
I did a sketch before the service then painted later.

We then headed down to see the Sea Cliff Bridge. Another Iconic Australian “you gotta do” thing

The views were quite impressive, and the story even more so.

We then slowly made our way back to Wollongong stopping at the beach at Coledale to have lunch and watch the surfers.

We then headed along the shore, and stopped at Sandon point beach where there were two cairns memorializing “Fuzz” and “Jinxy”. Two youths who had lost their lives surfing there. 😳

Towards Gong

We had enjoyed our time inland, but we are happy to be back near the Ocean, we certainly can understand why the majority (85%) of Aussies live within striking distance (50 km) to the coast

Fun fact, if you were to visit a new Australian beach every day, it would take you over 27 years to see them all!
