Been too busy to write!

We have been too busy the past few day to write blog posts. Enjoying the sights, and spending time with Family.

We arrived in Kiama on Monday, in the pouring rain, but Tuesday we rose to a sunny day. Despite the forecast.

We headed out on a guided tour, provided by Matt, who spent a good portion of his childhood in the area, on holidays with his dad.

First stop

A light house!

We went to visit the famous Kiama blowhole. The tide was on its way out, and the waves were not perfect, but still, the blowhole was pretty impressive.

The views from the surrounding rocks was also impressive, the sun glinting on the water

The rocks were reminiscent of the rocks at Peggy’s cove. Black and slippery. And still, people were wandering down to the water’s edge.

We then headed over to the other side of the cove… where the little Blowhole is… which on this day was actually better.

The info

From there we wandered down the coast, to Gerringong where, apparently, the Invisible Man was filmed!

Look closely, you will see a flat box like thing on the crest of the hillside… that’s the invisible man’s house!

We then went down to visit Werri beach.

The lagoon
The house from the other direction… we were standing before where the trees are on the right.

Then further down to Gerroa, at one end of 7 mile beach And stopped at the Fisherman’s Club, a good spot for a bevy with a view

We then turned around, and returned via Berry, where we had lunch in a local hotel/pub

The Kangaroo Inn
Fun architecture

We then headed back to the coast, ended up at the Kiama Boneyards a quarry on end of the ocean, where they got sandstone to build Sydney.

Erie looking

After some rest and relax at the Bnb, we ended our day with a wonderful Turkish Mezze dinner. And a wee Ice-cream at the Kiama Creamery for Rick

Happy boy!

The next day we again headed out to explore the area, with our Tour guide Matt. This time more inland.

But first some breakfast!

Yum! Actually. It was not bad.
Bat Duck approved of the view! And basked in the sun

Our first stop of the day, was an impressive lookout giving a panoramic view of the valley from Kiama to Gerringong! We took our Sign pic there.

To the north
To the south

We then headed to Fitzroy Falls. Another impressive, iconic Aussie place

But first… some info, the bridge then
The bridge now
Nope; that’s not the falls… but will probably be in a million or so years
First look at the falls
Further down the path

We made our way back, but first a stop in Robertson for Pie!

It’s for sale, if you have spare 4.5 million!
They have Gluten free pie!
Always with these signs… (I have yet to see one)

We then ended our tour in Huskisson, aka Husky. There was a lovely seaside pool, but it was closed that day as it is cleaning day.

The warning Sign… check out the last yellow warning… Yicks!

Returning to our Bnb. We rested and headed out for a Thai dinner.

The next morning we had an amazing breakfast at the Hungry Monkey,

The history of the building.

We said our farewells to the Hankinson Tour-guide team, and continued on to our next destination. A farm stay in Bodella.

With Sheep, chooks…
And at least one wallaby
And bat duck approved chocolates!
