It was Sunday… so you know where we went to church!
The lovely church in Bodalla was built by the founders of the town. The stain-glass had been ordered from the UK by Mrs Mort, and sat in storage until the church was built.
The church was not built until after the original Morts died, and was commissioned and constructed by their son in their memory.
(See Bodalla and Narooma for more info on the Mort Family)
The church was designed by the same architect who built the cathedral in Goulburn, and the similar style was apparent

The rector was covering another parish this Sunday so the Deacon, Kate, and Bishop Carol (retired) led the service.
After church we joined for a cuppa, and chatted to Rick… (from Canada) who sat in front of us, and told us how he was confused when Carol introduced Rick, retired priest from Canada, and his wife Jill. 😂
The other Rick was born in Kamloops, and his wife in Moose Jaw… but they travelled extensively as children, and sounded more Brit/Aussie, than Canadian Aussie. In fact, he has a niece, in Lanark, who they will be visiting in April… unfortunately, we will not be home yet, or we would have invited them over!
Bishop Carol (rtd.) invited us to stop at her place in Narooma on our way to Mallacoota. So we packed up Swifto, had lunch on the Beach in Narooma again, and watched the Surfers surf, and Lifeguard playing Cricket! before heading to her place.
Carol and her husband Jay were wonderful hosts, and we enjoyed the easy conversation. Jay was born in Virginia (USA) but also lived in Texas before coming to Australia.. (his mother was an Aussie). It was fun to hear Australian terms in a subtle American accent.
We left their place and did a bit of grocery shopping and drove to Mallacoota much later in the day than we usually travel.
We made it to our next Bnb around 6:30 pm, before dusk. Thankfully! As Mallacoota is down a small road, off the Highway, through a national park… lots of animal potentially on the road at night.
We were greeted by our hosts, who pointed out the resident Koala… and did not realize there was a baby, until I pointed it out. We were all very excited!
