The drive to Yarram

We drove from ‘Coota to Yarram, another small town near the coast. First the birds had to bid us fairwell!

Hey! Feed me
So Rick did!

As we drove out, and made our way past Wingan River, where the Bush fire started, we noticed more of the damage legacy.

Only 30 minutes from Mallacoota.

We stopped at the town of Lakes Entrance for lunch, at a little park, overlooking the bridge to the Beach.

There was also a bouncy castle style water park, but since it was 14c we did not go for a swim!!!

We then made our way to our sweet cottage in Yarram. The owners had recently painted, so the smell was a bit overwhelming when we arrived. But thankfully there was a lemon tree in the yard.. so I made some Lemon air freshener, and we opened the windows, and the place was better by the time it was bed time.

There was also a lovely collection of art in the place… so inspiring, no painting done today… but tomorrow… definitely.

The temperature barely made it to 20c, and as the sun set, it returned to 12. So we hunkered down for the evening, snuggling under blankets and keeping warm.

For those back home…. This may not seem like a hardship, but this country is not built for cold, and the houses are leaky, and we did not bring our cozy winter wear… (I know…. Mini violins are playing a sympathy song)

For my Aussie followers…(and other non- winter folks!)

This is home right now:
