It was a wildlife kinda day.

Today we explored Phillip Island… specifically, the Nobbies and Penguin Parade.

Disclaimer: you can’t take pictures of the penguins as they parade… so you won’t see any of those.

We drove out to the end of the island: on the way. We saw a Wallaby on the road, and had to stop for him to take his time to move … I was too busy watching, I forgot to film it!

Then we had to wait for the Geese to cross…

Silly geese.

Then we made it to the Nobbies! Wow… spectacular views, and Amazing crashing waves!

The Nobbies

There was a a board walk, that went around the point… so we went. There were more views… and Little Penguins, in their nests… probably the teenager penguins, who were told to say in the nest, but you know teens, they don’t listen!

Even better!

We then took a drive along the coast, and more fabulous views! we ended up overlooking the Penguin Parade beach.

We then headed to Pyramid rock.. the road was a bit rough!

Again; a view, boardwalks and rocks and waves!

We then headed back to our cabin for a rest and to get ready for the evening activity of watching the Penguins coming in!

But on the way…

We saw an echidna!

We came back, at around 6:30 to get a good spot… it was good timing. There were not many people there yet.. but within an hour… there were a lot!

Welcome!
Info
Yes Susan! Don’t stand behind a penguin!
The stats.

As we walked out to the viewing area, some of the earlier penguins had already come ashore, so we got a few pics along the walk.

The evening was beautiful… we watched as the sun set, and waited, impatiently…
