Where the Wild things are, again!?

Today we headed out the great distance of “across the street” where the Koala Conservation Centre is.

The Interpretation Center has a lot of great information.

Life cycle
Why people think they are bears…
Info on the fire… 1 billion wildlife lost!

We then headed out to the walkways.

There are two raised boardwalks so you can better see the Koalas

We wandered out, and came to the first board walk. A Lovely volunteer Bev, became our personal guide, giving us the lowdown, and “introducing” us to the Koalas.

Meet Ottie, she is a mature Koala, 7 years old and has had many babies… but none this year! (She had three last year… I think she is tired)
This is Trixie and Toddles, her Male Joey
This is a live version.

We then wandered around to the next enclosure… where there were More Koalas!

And a wallaby, having a snack

We then headed over to Cowes. The main town on the island, we had lunch on the beach… we had some guests, looking for some freebies.. they did not get any.

We then drove around the island. Taking in the views and surf… honestly; the pictures do not do them justice.

Surf Beach
Statue in Rhyll
Tide was out

And so ends our Aussie journey, 100 days, we did not plan it that way… but there you go. Phase three complete.

We will be back in Australia for 4 days, before we catch the ship back to North America, but that will be more of a regroup, and reset, not a tour.

New Zealand here we come!
