Our Wicked Walkabout

Seriously, the road we took today was called the Far North Road.

We left our little town on the KariKari Peninsula, and swung around the bay to Whatuwhiwhi… remember Wh is Fffff…

We then, turned around and made our way to the Tip of the North Island. A two hour drive, with construction, to Cape Reinga. Well, as far north as you can drive.

There was a wee walk… 750 m to the lighthouse and Sign post… all down hill… the down was easy… the up… not so much! I was thankful for the benches along the route.

It was Friday… so we stopped on the way back, at the Last Pub in the north. For fish and chips… for Rick… salad for me… Gluten-free is not really a word up here.
