Well, as stated in the previous post, I was not really in the mood to sketch yesterday. I was hungover, to be honest.
I started with trying to do a bit of Pen work on my sketch from the previous day, but was just not in the right head space.

Rick and I decided to head out and find a place to shop, we took a walk in the other direction from where we have gone in the past, but ended up back in the Market! But found the the Palí Mart (which we discovered is Walmart). It was a small store, compared to what we have at home, but found some bread, jam margarine, and chips. (We discovered later the margarine was garlic!) we also got some ham and cheese, for snacks/sandwiches.
We then returned to the hotel, Rick has a wee siesta, and I read. And relaxed.
Then we headed out for the main activity of the day. A horse and carriage ride through town.

We grouped up into foursomes, and headed out. Due to a minor complication we had a short trip with 6, so I sat up front with the driver!

Our first stop was the oldest church in Granada. The lead carriage driver was our tour guide, and across from the church was the oldest park, and he explained the early history of the city, from Aztec to Pirates!

A short walk to the next block where the Cigar store is.
We were shown tabacco leaves and would have been able to watch them make cigars, but the government had just announced that Feb 2 would be a national holiday (the first ever) so everyone was off. All the Nica’s did not understand the holiday. but took it anyway.

We then continued our journey to the newest church in town, build in 1920’s

The last stop for the day was the Chocolate store.
Rick enjoyed it!
We learned a lot about cocoa, and had samples.

After the chocolate tour, and purchases! We headed out for a quick meal at Pita Pita, a middle eastern restaurant.

A another quick siesta, and Rick headed out for an evening choir practice, and I indulged in Netflix.
A quiet birthday, but not too bad.
Sketching to resume tomorrow.
