Blue Christmas

We travelled from Nundle and back to the big city of Sydney, well the suburbs anyway. Crossing from the great Dividing Range over to the Blue Mountains. As we left the plains, we again travelled the winding roads, coming to the Grey Gum Cafe. A resting place, and concert venue for the many motor-bikers who…

It’s not a picnic…

Today we had a busy day… as it often seems on a Sunday. We began our day with a quick breakfast and headed out for the short walk to the local church, for its 9 am service. Rick had done the research, and found the time on the towns website. Guess what? They were wrong.…

Saying goodbye, and saying hello

Today we continued our travels east, as our time in the RV is drawing to a close. We bid fairwell to Nambucca, and drove down to Port Macquarie. This is where my Aunt Pat lived for 30 or so years of her life, and where her ashes have been sent to sea, to join with…

Sometimes you just need to go with the tide.

Yesterday we did a relocation… from Brisbane to Nambucca Heads. Christmas is everywhere.. it’s weird, when it looks like Christmas at home…. Vs. Home… We did try to head into Gold Coast, with it’s communities called “Miami”, “surfers paradise”, “mermaid waters”, “palm Beach”, but it was not meant to be… the traffic was awful, and…

Pretty Brissy

Brisbane, a city of a winding river, hot streets, lovely cool wharf, and a rather modern classic cathedral. They finished building it in 2009, 108 years after they started, in true cathedral style. Anyway, getting ahead of myself. We (as always) had a leisurely breakfast, and headed out for today’s wander. The bus to downtown…

Wild life!!!!

We relocated again yesterday driving from Bundaberg to Brisbane. Just drive… nothing exciting to report. We arrived at our holiday park, complete with lovely pool and licensed restaurant. So we did! This morning, we had a leisurely coffee, breakfast and did a few loads of Laundry. And hung out at the pool, waiting for it…

Bundaberg… somewhere I had never heard of, but will never forget.

We left Marlborough, and Ernie and Bert and continued our trek south. It was just a day of travel… no scenic stops, no great vistas… just Sugar Cane, and Cows. We passed through the city of Rockhampton, the cattle city of Queensland. And it was… We landed in Bundaberg, and camping in its even smaller…

Life is a highway, or Sugar, Sugar

Both are good themes for today. Although later in the day… “old Hiram’s Goat” came up… It was a driving day… we left Airlie Beach after breakfast, refueling and selfie on the beach, and hit the road. The drive from Airlie beach south is (honestly) rather dull. Sugar canes. Sugar trains, sugar Museums, sugar institutes…

Life’s a Beach.

Today we booked a day at THE beach. Whitehaven, on Whitsunday. We got up in the morning and had our breakfast at the communal kitchen, as our camp site had NO Shade, and it was already getting on to a million degrees. We headed then to the reception to change sites, as we needed shade.…

Has anyone noticed that the Landscape has changed? Aussie version

Well off we headed from Townsville Leisure park after a leisurely breakfast. We headed into town with a purpose in mind. Our friend Gilly has a friend here… so we were on a mission to bring greetings! And we did! Then we headed down to the Strand, THE place in Townsville. Then off we headed…
