Somehow we have already lost track of time. Or rather the day of the week.
We know the date, as our hotel bookings have dates,
We know which state, as we are taking picture of state lines.
We know what day it is in our travels, because we have our little sign. But we keep asking each other, what day is it? Is it Wednesday?
Today, we traveled more in the prairie lands of Montana, and again, struck by how “not flat” it is. Montana is definitely a state of hills and mountains.

Also… they drive FAST! The speed limit is 80 mph that’s 130 km/hr!
Not so bad on the prairie, but in the mountains! Yicks! I’m a white knuckle driver on mountains as it is, but at that speed, it was tense. I was actually thankful for the construction to slow us all down.

Once again, we are traveling in the US during an election year. And the signs are everywhere. Today, we saw a doozy. A truck towing a large trailer, covered with pictures of “usa’s #1 (2 and 3) biggest enemies “. They of course, were Biden, Harris, and Walz.…

On Monday we crossed the watershed divide, today the continental divide.

We also stopped for a short break at Gold River, where the last spike of the railroad was celebrated.

We briefly entered Idaho, gassed up, at the first full Costco gas station.

But they don’t do windshield washing stations at Costco gas.. so we continue to live with the marred view.

Then into Washington, for a 2 star hotel. Honestly we did not understand the 2 star rating, until we saw the view from our room.

Dinner at the lovely Italian restaurant across the street. Although there was no cross walk, so we had to dodge traffic to get there.

That evening I attempted to paint the little house on the prairie
