Today we booked a day at THE beach. Whitehaven, on Whitsunday.
We got up in the morning and had our breakfast at the communal kitchen, as our camp site had NO Shade, and it was already getting on to a million degrees.
We headed then to the reception to change sites, as we needed shade. on the way we saw one that had morning and afternoon shade. It was no issue, so we switched.
It was time to do some laundry, so I headed to the laundry… every machine said out of order… so… next place I guess.
We had booked the “afternoon at the Beach” tour; so we grabbed a cab and headed over to the pier.
After a short wait and an ice cream each 🍦, it was time to board.

The boat was basically a ferry, and first stopped at Daydream Island to pick up some other passengers, we ended up sitting with a lovely couple from Brisbane, here on a “significant” wedding anniversary. They gave us some tips of places to see while there.
We then arrived at Hamilton Island, and switched boats. (And picked up more passengers)

The boat arrived within about 45 minutes, and we tendered to the beach. They had cabanas you could rent, which we did not, provided free stinger suits as its stinger season aka jelly fish and the main white marquis they had a sausage sizzle (aka Hotdogs) which we did.. a few each, and coolers full of drinks, and you could run a tab.. which we also did!
I had a wee swim with some fishes… and Rick enjoyed the beach, and rested his eyes a bit.
The sand was so white, and squeaked as you walked across it.

After two hours, the perfect amount of time. We packed up and headed back to Airlie Beach, and… as is our pattern. Mixed a drink, and headed to the pool!
Another good day.
