Saying goodbye, and saying hello

Today we continued our travels east, as our time in the RV is drawing to a close.

We bid fairwell to Nambucca, and drove down to Port Macquarie. This is where my Aunt Pat lived for 30 or so years of her life, and where her ashes have been sent to sea, to join with her brother, my dad.

We first stopped at the grocery store, that backed onto her old house, which we could not see, (tall fence). But it was close enough. I shopped where she shopped. ❤️

Then we headed to the beach, where she was laid to rest. It was Saturday, so there were a large number of bathers… an active place.

We sat a bit, enjoyed the view and said our goodbyes.

The beach where she rests

And a mini pairing was done

Then we headed inland to the tiny community of Nundle (look it up on Google maps!). When my cousin Rachel lives with her husband Bob.

It was a bit of an adventure itself, crossing the Great Dividing Range!

Beautiful scenery as we approached the hills
The route, we actually arrived around 4:30…

We hit some construction, and had to wait for a bit. Then followed the “follow Me” car.

We felt a bit sorry for the workers

38!!!

We then crossed the mountain range.

Sample of the drive!
Finally some straight road, after almost 2 hours!

We were rewarded with amazing pastoral views

Love the views… does this not scream Paint Me?
Coming out of the hills
Brewing sky
The mist in the distance, as the rain approached

After a bit of a GPS mixup, we arrived in Nundle and settled in, and headed out to meet Cousin Rachel and Robert (Bob) Schofield at the pub. Last time I saw Rachel, we were very small children! (6 & 8)

We spent the evening chatting about our lives, our Parents (who were siblings) and general nothing at all. Totally forgot to take a selfie!

Note the name of the proprietor (a second cousin or something of Bob’s but he is named after him)
A cool one after a long driving day!
