New Zealand Vibe

Well we have begun our Phase 4.

We left Melbourne on Wednesday evening, unfortunately the inbound flight was 1/2 hour late, so we were late leaving and late arriving. The flight was scheduled to arrive at 12:10 am… but instead we arrived after 1am… then pick up rental car, get to hotel, and crash into bed after 2 am. Wired, and struggling to get so sleep… so awoke exhausted, but excited.

We were only driving up to Rick’s friend, Dawn’s house, who lives 1 hour and 20 minutes from Christchurch, in a little village called Culverden, but the drive was lovely!

We are now driving a Red Corolla, just like we did in Western Australia… only this one is a hybrid… thankfully, the Petrol prices here are Skyhigh!!!

This car has been dubbed “Cora, the Corolla” don’t tell Swifto, but we like her better!

The mountains
Rolling hills
Massive hedgerows!
Just gorgeous!

We arrived at the Vicarage, and after a wonderful catch-up… we crashed until Dinner.

After dinner, Ross took us out for the Tour of the area. What a great tour guide! Ross is a landscaper… so the focus was mostly on the Flora!

Massive herds. We are in dairy country
This church was not reopened after the last earthquake… note the lean on the tower
Another church, that was closed after the earthquake, then repurposed

  1. I appreciate that I may be acting like my father, but I am curious about a plane being 1/2 late (half late.)

Dare I ask if it was the front or the rear half? Or something else?

(OK, OK, 1/2 hour late. I do get that. And I have done grammatical errors missing a word just because I so excited.
