Misty Mountains

Today we drove across the Lewis Pass to the west coast of New Zealand. The day started off sunny, but as we made our way into the mountains, the rain and mist descended. Creating fantastical cotton candy flossed peaks.

Starting the route
The brooding clouds
Filling in
More cotton candy

We made it across, and stopped in Greymouth for groceries and Lunch. We stopped at a charming pub/brewery, that was next to the Train station, and was formerly the custom house.

Ok, and a cider and beer
The story.
The charming interior
The new and improved post earthquake exterior
View across the inlet… to Cobden. Lmao!
The story
The other half of the story.
My mini version of the day.

At the end of the day, although we did not see many sights we are thankful for the rain. We have seen so little for the past 4 months, we know how important it is here.

Tomorrow is another day.
