Life is a beach…

Our first day in Nicaragua was a much more leisurely day. Kinda…

I did not mention that our room had a few issues when we checked in. But as it was almost Midnight, and we were a wee bit tired. The primary one being that our bathroom tap was in two pieces. So no water. But the toilet worked and we had beds. We just fell into them and did not think twice about it. Until we got up in the morning to a minor flood in the bathroom. The sink may not have had water, but the toilet had lots to spare!

(We ended up changing rooms in the end)

First breakfast at our hotel was slow to start, I am not sure they are used to having so many guests at once

Awaiting our breakfast.

In the end, it was lovely, Scrambled eggs, fried beans and a tortilla. (Not for me)

After a brief time, we had an overview of our itinerary and followed by a walking tour of the town. What you need to understand about our coordinator, is that he is musical artist. And artists don’t focus well sometimes. So, it was a fun tour but a bit chaotic.

The central plaza at the cathedral

We took a brief stop at the beach so the first tiny painting could be created. Of course Rick happened to find a fellow motorcyclist from Ontario to chat with.

The view

We then continued our wander along the beach meeting up with the larger group again at the Puerto San Juan Del Sur sign, and memorial to Mark Twain.

You have to listen when a poet is reading!

I dipped my toes in the water as you would and then we headed up to a balcony restaurant for a lovely lunch with margaritas and large portions.

Margaritas!
Massive bowl of Sopa!
Complete with heads and tails!

Returning to our hotel, it was Siesta time! Followed by a group dinner an early to bed still exhausted from the travel day.

Dining in style,
